Looking for hot dates in Las Vegas

I'm looking at you, Susan -

Actually, I need dried figs, not men. I'm having a dinner party on Friday and I'm serving an appetizer featuring dates.

I looked at Whole Foods Paycheck, and at a Mediterranean market. They each had prunes, but no dates.

Susan, you're a foodie. Can I get away with using prunes instead of dates? Or do you know where I can find a date for Friday night?

I swear I saw dates at Wild Oats. I'm not so sure about using prunes for dates. But fig? TJs carries dried figs. Oh, and you didn't mention TJs, have you tried there? Call before you dig.

Have you tried Trader Joe's?

I guess I should have said "call before you fig."

I would also try Habib's on Decatur and Flamingo. They have a store next to the restaurant. I thought I saw them last time I was there. . . Good Luck!

Prunes do not equal dates unless your dinner party is at the Sunny Retirement Center and Nursing Home.

Hey! I like prunes! Lay off!

The traditional brazilian birthday cake is a three layer one: between the first two layers is a dulce de leche cream with coconut and between the top two layers is a PRUNE compote! (FYI)
