My friend Amy sent me this book, swearing up and down that it saved her sanity with Lindsay, her almost-one-year-old:
From Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child:
If your child does not learn to sleep well, he may become an incurable adult insomniac, chronically disabled from sleepiness and dependent on sleeping pills.
Aaaagh! If I don't follow the advice in this book, my child will become a wheelchair-bound zombie junkie!

Posted by: susan at September 15, 2005 11:20 AMThat is a little extreme but getting them to sleep thru the night earlier is better for you and them. I recommend the book BabyWise. It worked pretty well for us. That is one book that is worth reading.
Posted by: ryland at September 15, 2005 9:19 PMNice thing for you, Jen - Your timing works out with us - your house can be the holding tank for our baby stuff (swings, bouncers, other gear if you want it) until our next one in a couple of years!
Including Babywise - It's for the first year, but I think I'm done with it now. Dax is sleeping all night, so what else would I need it for?
